Shaping Stillness is more than a concert—it’s a total sensory experience. In this immersive performance, the audience is invited to sit directly on stage among the musicians, allowing them to become part of a sonic and visual environment that evolves around them.

As the ensemble performs, visual projections fill the space, adding another layer of immersion by transforming the surroundings into a surreal, dreamlike atmosphere.

In his music for percussion and strings, Evert Van Eynde looks for purity and peace - but that does not make him your average neoclassical composer. Underneath his serene compositions, Evert always searches for complexity, following diverse paths through music history. The program features selections from his Suite for String Quartet and his EPs The Shape of Stillness and Music for Marimba, String Quartet and Sub, deeply personal compositions that reflect his artistic journey.

The evening also includes beautiful arrangements of music by Max Richter and Nils Frahm, which enhance the contemplative and emotive mood of the performance.

The ensemble:

Astrid Leeman, violin

Laura Kennis, violin

Stefan Wellens, viola

Daan De Vos, cello

Evert Van Eynde, marimba and synthesizer

Yoeri Lewijze: staging.
